Stella Was Down

  1. INT.  BEDROOM.
Open on a room.  There is Stella sitting on a bed with her head down and crying a little bit.  There is a man standing a little way from her looking out of a window with his hands in his pockets.  The man turns towards her.

CAPTION:  I’m Sorry.

Neither of them move.  Stella cries harder.  The man fidgets and tries to look away.  He begins to light a cigarette.  Stella cries harder.  The man stops lighting up and gets closer to Stella.  He kneels down and holds her hand trying to look into her eyes.

CAPTION:  This is for the best.  This is for the best for everyone.

His hands carass her hands.  She looks up at him.  She cries harder.  He holds her hands for a while as she crys.  She begins to wipe her tears.  He gets up and begins to light his cigarette again.  She gets up and the two figures regard each other before Stella reluctantly goes out of the room.  The man looks around the room and fidgets with his hands before walking back to the window and resting his hands on the sill.  The night is dark, there are no stars, and cigarette smoke brushes against the glass.  The man looks at nothing.  He eventually puts his hand agaisnt the window and holds it there.  In the dark night there are faint, transparant, images of a happy woman in various positions of play in the sun.   The images touch the hand of the man and they fade away.  The man turns his head toward the door.  The door gets larger and fades into…

  1. INT.  BEDROOM.
…The man at the window.  He moves his eyes then drops his cigarette and moves quickly towards the door.  This fades back to…

  1. EXT.  SEAFRONT.
…Stella walking.  Stella stops walking and leans on the sea wall.  She looks out over the wall and into the black sea.  She stares at the water at high tide slapping against the wall.  In the sea faint outlines of images beginng to form but dissapear before doing so.  She cries uncontrolably.  Further up the way there is  small figure in the distance.  The focus shifts to this figure getting a little larger leaving Stella behind.  Slowly the running figure gets bigger and it is seen to be the man running towards where Stella was.  As the focus returns to her the man runs into the empty space where she had been standing.

CAPTION:  Stella!

MAN:  Stella!  Stella, I love you!  Stella, I love you!

The man looks out over the wall into as the black sea that begins to engulf the picture.

CAPTION (white background, black text):  I love you
CAPTON (same):  Till The End
